Patiently Waiting For These Thrilling Adventures.

In my previous blog, I talked about all the games that I'm looking forward to playing in the fall of 2023. I wrote that with lots of excitement yet, only four of you read it. Anyways, this year is already stacked with games but there is no denying that 2024, 2025, and 2026 are also going to be loaded with some extraordinary games. I'm gonna just list some of the games that are on everyone's radar and I'll briefly mention a few under-the-radar games that I'm looking forward to playing in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Games that most of us can't wait to play are Marvel's Wolverine, Star Wars Outlaws, Star Wars Eclipse, Wonder Woman, Fable, Perfect Dark, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and to some degree, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. I know a lot of gamers were really disappointed with the gameplay of Suicide Squad that Rocksteady showed us earlier this year, but I'm still excited about it. This is the same developer that brought us three amazing Batman Arkham games. I have faith in Rocksteady and I advise you to give their game a chance when it comes out.

Of the games I mentioned above, the three games I just can't wait to play are Wolverine, Wonder Woman, and Star Wars Outlaws. Wolverine is being developed by Insomniac Games, the same developer who brought us Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. They both were amazing, and Wolverine is my favorite Marvel character. So I was thrilled when Insomniac and PlayStation announced a Wolverine Game.

Wonder Woman game is being developed by Monolith Productions and I know for sure that this game is going to be awesome. Monolith Productions have a special place in my heart as they developed my two favorite games of all time in Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. Gameplay for Shadow of War is just phenomenal as whenever I start playing it, I just can't put the controller down. I'm pretty sure I'll be playing the Wonder Woman game for months.

So I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of any of the games that were developed by Massive Entertainment and I don't think I'll be playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which is coming out later this year. However, Star Wars Outlaws looks very promising. The character, the cute companion, the visuals, the gameplay, and everything looks really solid. It seems like it is Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor but you are just replacing lightsaber with guns. While I do prefer lightsabers over guns, I'll be more than okay with a third-person Star Wars shooter.

Okay, those three games are exciting and almost everyone is going to play them. Let's talk about five games that very few gamers are currently talking about. Have you heard of Faith of Danschant: Hereafter? What about Lost Soul Aside? I'm sure you all have heard of Crimson Desert, a game that will never come out apparently. The two games that I'm looking forward to playing the most are: 'Where Winds Meet' and 'Project: The Perceiver'. I believe those two games have the potential to be the greatest games of all time, yet no one is currently talking about them. Everyone is talking about Spider-Man 2, Starfield, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, another Mario game, and so on. Those games do deserve attention, but most of us gamers need to look beyond the household names. There are some breathtaking action-adventure games on the horizon.

Faith of Danschant: Hereafter is an upcoming action/role-playing game by Beijing Joyfun, and it is a sequel to a 2017 game, Faith of Danschant. Now, I don't really know much about the first game as I never got to play it, and I actually have no desire to play it since it is a turn-based game (I just can't get into turn-based games after trying a bunch of them). Though, the sequel is going to be an amazing action sword-fighting game. I watched a twelve-minute clip of the game on YouTube, and I was impressed with how fast and smooth the gameplay looked.

 Faith of Danschant: Hereafter Gameplay

The best gameplay feature I found for Faith of Danschant was how you can use the top of the trees for traversal and to sneak up on your enemies. It just felt so satisfying to climb up on trees and just move from one to another, and move really fast. Also, you can do wall-running like how Cal-Kestis was able to do in Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor. My only concerns about this game are voice acting and enemy design. I mostly focus on gameplay, but sometimes awful voice acting can really ruin the experience. I hope the developers figure something out with the voice acting or the dialogue. As for the enemy design, it is not that bad, but it isn't that good either. The one boss they showed at the end of the gameplay trailer was pretty cool and the fight also seemed legit. Right now my excitement level for Faith of Danschant: Hereafter is at 8/10 but it could go up if I can see more of the game.

On December 10th, 2020, I watched The Game Awards from start to finish for the very first time. It was a great show as a lot of amazing games were revealed. One of the games that was revealed during the show was Crimson Desert by Pearl Abyss. In 2020, I was experiencing games like Shadow of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey for the first time (boy, I wish I could go back). All those open-world games were rich in detail and they were absolutely stunning to look at. When I saw the gameplay trailer of Crimson Desert, I knew instantly that I'm going to adore that game as it looked like a good combination of AC Odyssey, RDR2, and Shadow of War.

Crimson Desert Gameplay

According to that trailer, the game was supposed to come out sometime during Winter 2021. Then on July 29th, 2021, Pearl Abyss informed us that they were delaying the game as they needed some more time to polish it. As of today, June 27th, 2023, I'm still waiting for a Crimson Desert release date. I just hope it doesn't get canceled as I really want to experience this game. This is going to be an action-adventure / open-world game set in a medieval fantasy. Who doesn't like medieval fantasy games?

I haven't played Final Fantasy XVI yet, but I have seen some gamers compare it to Devil May Cry 5. Of all the gameplay footage I have seen so far, I don't really see the similarities. Lost Soul Aside, however, looks like a DMC5 clone or even better. Two years ago, IGN posted a seventeen-minute gameplay clip for it on YouTube and I have watched it at least three different times since then. I really need this game ASAP! The colors, the graphics, the combat, the movement, the music, the boss fights (they showed two of them in that clip), the protagonist, everything just looks so damn good. During those boss fights, I spotted four different colors coming out of your sword and your character's body as he moved in action. I saw orange (fire-like color), blue, red, and purple.

Lost Soul Aside Gameplay

Also, in this game, you will have a raven or some sort of mystical bird as your companion. He seems really cool to hang out with and he can turn into many things, even your sword and your shield. I don't really drool for any game but Ultizero Games, the developer of Lost Soul Aside, has managed to just do that with their awesome presentation of this game. Lost Soul Aside is going to be an action/hack & slash/role-playing game and it will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The two games that I absolutely can't wait to play (and I really mean it) are: Where Winds Meet and Project: The Perceiver. Like Faith of Danschant: Hereafter and Lost Soul Aside, these two games are also being developed by Chinese developers. Where Winds Meet is being developed by Everstone Studio and Project: The Perceiver is being developed by Papergames. Both of these titles are action-adventure / open-world and they both feature martial arts. In my opinion, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the greatest game of all time, mainly because of its excellent and satisfying sword combat and memorable boss fights. No game has come close to matching Sekiro when it comes to combat and traversal.

I would love Sekiro 2 more than anything, but if it never comes around, I won't complain. Why? Because one day we will get to play Where Winds Meet and Project: The Perceiver. I'm not just going to play these games. I'm going to live them! I'll be playing them for hundreds of hours. You guys have no idea how badly I want to play them. The gameplay presentations were executed so brilliantly by the developers of these games. I was just in awe throughout the presentations and I watched both of them back to back (twice). It's like combining Sekiro's gameplay with the open world of Red Dead Redemption 2, plus the imagination of these awesome Chinese developers.

Where Winds Meet Gameplay

Project: The Perceiver Gameplay

You have to see these gameplay presentations for yourself, as I don't think I can't ever describe the beauty and majesty of these two games. The worlds I get to see in these games, just look drop-dead gorgeous. The trees, the river, the lands, the mountains, the grass, all the leaves in different colors, clouds, the sky, and all kinds of natural beauty look just fabulous. Then, in those beautiful worlds, you get to do stylish sword combat against deadly foes. If you ask me which game has the better presentation, I would say Project: The Perceiver. I liked the sword combat slightly more in that game because you hear the sound of the swords deflecting one another much better than what you hear in the gameplay of Where Winds Meet. Also, the final two minutes of Project: The Perceiver's presentation was just out of this world! If you haven't seen these presentations yet, please just go ahead and watch them now. They are just mind-blowing!

So, Faith of Danschant: Hereafter, Crimson Desert, Lost Soul Aside, Where Winds Meet, and Project: The Perceiver are the five thrilling action-adventure games I am looking forward to playing sometime down the road. As of right now, all five of these games are planned to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Faith of Danschant: Hereafter and Crimson Desert are the only two games out of the list that are also releasing on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. But to me, it doesn't matter if they are going to be multi-platform or exclusives. I'll be playing every single one of them whenever they come out! They are going to be epic.

Will Xbox Ever Beat PlayStation In Sales?

We all have our favorites. Favorite food, favorite city, favorite movie, favorite band, favorite game, and favorite console (of course there is more stuff but I was just giving you some examples). I love video games. To be more specific, I love pure action adult games with excellent looking graphics. I apologize to all those who love indie games and or games that look cartoonish, but that's just not my thing. To be honest, I don't understand how so many of twenty-plus-year-old play games like Cuphead, Zelda, Mario games, Untitled Goose, and more. Not saying they are bad games and don't have challenging missions, but the graphics of those games and how the characters appear and behave makes them look very kiddish. I bought myself 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' because I needed to know why this game is considered a masterpiece and one of the best games on Nintendo Switch. Not gonna lie, I was very excited as the game was loading and about to start. Th...

This Year's PlayStation Showcase Was Just Okay..

Yesterday's show wasn't that bad. If you care about games in general and not just about exclusives, then yesterday's PlayStation Showcase was really good. However, it doesn't matter what we care about. The purpose of the showcase was for PlayStation to show off the games their first-party studios were working on. That's what we saw in their last showcase in 2021, which was excellent. Since last week, when it was announced that PlayStation would be doing a showcase this week, our excitement went through the roof and we all started making predictions. Before I talk about all the games we were expecting to see last night, let's touch on some of the games and some extra stuff that we all got to see.      One game that caught the attention of many gamers was Phantom Blade Zero. Those who know me would tell you that I like nothing more than a third-person action-adventure game with sword combat. I buy such games instantly. What I saw from the gameplay reveal...

Xbox Game Pass Can Be Very Controversial On Twitter.

There are some things in this world that are hard to explain. These days people attempt to do weird and stupid things to catch attention. If you post something nice and educational on the internet, chances are you will get 10 to 40 likes if you have 1000 followers on Twitter or Instagram. If you post something controversial, you could get 10K likes and a whole lot of engagement in the comment section like no problem. In the gaming community, unless you are a popular streamer, when you post an excellent gameplay clip or anything positive related to gaming, you get a few cool gamers liking your post and maybe retweeting it. You might get a few bots on Twitter retweeting your post as well. If you post anything negative or anything to devalue one platform, your tweet will get retweeted by so many people with whom you never even interacted on the internet. Half of them will be applauding you and the other half will call you a clown. Either way, you get the attention. ...
