Before
we start, I would like to clarify that this blog was not written with an
intent to offend PlayStation and all of its true gamers. I have a lot of
respect for PlayStation and its fans. PlayStation is a great console with a lot
of great games.
I'm writing this blog to question the PlayStation fanboys and the extreme
Xbox haters. I got a few questions for you all. Is Resident Evil 2 considered a
video game? I believe so. Can it be played on Xbox One?
Okay, what about Shadow of War? Is that a game too? Can it be played on Xbox
One?
What about Red Dead Redemption 2? What about The Witcher 3? What about Shadow
of Tomb Raider, The Outer Worlds, Devil May Cry 5, Doom, Metro Exodus, Dead
Rising 4, Nier: Automata, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Star Wars Jedi:
Fallen Order….? What about Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey? Can all those
games be played on Xbox One?
Yes! All those games and many more can be played on Xbox One, and they all look
amazing on Xbox One X. Now, to the main question. Why in the world do you all
say Xbox One has no games? No, no, no, I don't care what you mean. All I know
is that you say Xbox One has no games, as in zero games. That kinda means
console doesn't offer any gaming to the gamers. It is just there for the music
or some apps and stuff.
We all know that this statement of the Xbox haters is just false. I know what
some of you are thinking right now. Why am I taking no games on Xbox One
comment literally when you all are basically trying to say Xbox One has not
that many good exclusives? Well because the two statements are extremely
opposite to one another. I agree with you all that Xbox One doesn't have as
many big-time exclusives as PlayStation 4, and it is not even close. However,
that doesn't mean Xbox One doesn't have any games or exclusives. Xbox One does
have Halo 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Sunset Overdrive, Gears of War 4 and Gears 5,
Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Dead Rising 4, Forza Horizon 4, ReCore,
Crackdown 3, and Sea of Thieves as its first-party games. Oh, yeah, I forgot
those games can be played on PC too, so they are technically not Xbox One
first-party games. That is so sad. We Xbox gamers should be crying right now.
But then again, these games are still available on Xbox One, right? We can play
all of them on Xbox One, right?
Why
should I and the rest of the Xbox gamers feel awful about the games that we
play on Xbox One being available to others who play on PC, PS4, or the Nintendo
Switch? Like how does a good game being available on all consoles would make me
less enjoy the game on my Xbox One? I honestly don't care if the game is
exclusive to Xbox One or not. I just want to enjoy my game and have fun with
it. If others can also enjoy the same games as I do, then what's the problem? I
think it's a great thing when all of us gamers have access to as many games as
possible.
Let me be honest with you all. I didn't know that big games like Halo, God of
War, Spider-Man, The Witcher 3 (I know this is not an exclusive), the Madden
and 2k games can be exclusives to either Xbox or PlayStation until late 2018.
When I saw the trailer of Marvel's Spider-Man game in 2018, I was
extremely excited about it. Then at the end of the trailer, it said 'Only on
PlayStation.' I was like wait, I can not play this game? I have to buy a brand
new system to play it? Like really? A Spider-Man game will not be available to
millions of users? I guess life sucks. Now let's get back to the point. Until
late 2018, I wasn't aware that the big games can be exclusives to either Xbox
or PlayStation. Why was that the case? Because most of the games I enjoy or
played were third-party games. For instance, Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman
Arkham City, Batman Arkham Origins, Batman Arkham Knight, The Amazing
Spider-Man 2, Madden Games, 2k Games, Deadpool, Monster Hunter World, Shadow of
Mordor, Injustice, Injustice 2, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, Assassin's Creed 3,
and Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
Quick Note: I love my super-hero games and that's why I have played a whole lot
of them on my Xbox One and 360.
Yes, it is true I wasn't a true gamer until I subscribed to Xbox Game Pass
Ultimate in late June of 2019 (so one year). However, up until that point, I
was just playing all the third-party games. Even since last year, when I
learned big games can be exclusives to a specific console, most of the games I
have played so far today are third-party games. Since June of 2019, I have
played these third-party games; Metro Exodus, Red Dead Redemption 2, The
Witcher 3, Shadow of War, Resident Evil 2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, The
Blair Witch, Sherlock Holmes: Devil's Daughter, Devil May Cry 5, Doom (2016),
Streets of Rage 4, and Assassin's Creed Origins. Did I not try the first-party
Xbox and PlayStation games? Sure I did! In fact, I have completed a total of
eight exclusive games on PlayStation 4 and on Xbox One. I have completed The
Last of Us, God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man (of course), and Uncharted 4 on
PlayStation 4. For Xbox One, I have completed Halo 1 to 4. These days, I'm
playing Halo 5 on my Xbox One X with my friend, and Horizon Zero Dawn on
PlayStation 4.
Another Quick Note: If you guys are wondering where did I get a PlayStation 4
when I'm an Xbox gamer, I was gifted PlayStation 4 by my boss at work, and yes
I asked him for it. I wanted to play Spider-Man and God of War, and I really
considered buying a PlayStation 4 for just those two games. Luckily, I got it
as a gift.
For sure PlayStation 4 has more and better exclusives than Xbox One. There is
no denying that. But like I said, that doesn't mean Xbox One doesn't have any
games. There are thousands of games on Xbox One. I believe there are over a
hundred great games on Xbox One. Most of the big-big games are all there. In my
opinion, and this is just me, if Xbox One had God of War and Spider-Man, I
would have never considered buying a PlayStation 4. Would I have missed on few
great games? Sure, as I would have definitely missed on The Last of Us,
Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh 1 & 2, Days Gone, Bloodborne, upcoming
The Last of Us 2, and Ghost of Tsushima. However, I'm being honest here again,
I'm not a fan of Uncharted 4. The game has too many cut-scenes to watch. The
action was fun but it wasn't enough as the cutscenes dominated the game in my
opinion. The Last of Us is a great game, but I got something better to play on
my Xbox One X, and that is Resident Evil 2. Not sure why The Last of Us is
considered the greatest game of the decade by so many people. I would take
Resident Evil 2 over The Last of Us any day. Horizon Zero Dawn is a great game,
but not something I was dying to play. Nioh 1 & 2 and Bloodborne are
awesome and challenging games. I think I'm not ready for them yet, but I will
try them down the road as I get more experienced with challenging games.
However, as awesome as those games are, we have a couple similar games
available on Xbox One. We have Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
The eleven PlayStation exclusives I mentioned above, including God of War and
Spider-Man, they are all big-time games. All those games look great and are fun
(except for Uncharted 4). I would love to have all those games on Xbox One, but
besides God of War and Spider-Man, I'm not dying to play any of those other
games. So for me, Xbox One is only missing two big games. Actually, Xbox One is
missing three big games if we consider Street Fighter V. In the end, Red Dead
Redemption 2, Shadow of War, The Witcher 3, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3,
Gears 5, and all the other great games make Xbox One fun for us Xbox gamers.
Now that I'm done talking about PlayStation vs Xbox. Let's move to Nintendo
Switch for a minute. The Xbox haters go all out saying Xbox has no games.
However, you say nothing about Switch missing some big (I mean big games). Why
is that? Oh, because Nintendo Switch has Zelda and a hundred different types of
Mario exclusives for their console. Right, but what if I want to play Shadow of
War? What if I want to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider? What if I want to play
Resident Evil 2 and 3? What if I want to play Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice? Wait,
wait, wait... What if I want to play a Madden game on Switch? Okay, who cares
about sport video games? Okay, what about one of the greatest games of all
time, Red Dead Redemption 2. Is that available on Switch? Not yet. You all know
the most popular game from the 2010s, Grand Theft Auto V? That has to be on
Nintendo Switch? Unfortunately, it's not available on Switch.
So even though Nintendo Switch is missing a lot of big games, the PlayStation
fanboys and Xbox haters don't call Nintendo out for missing those games. That's
because Nintendo Switch has more exclusives than Xbox One, and all those
exclusives can only be played on the Switch consoles. Let's go back to my main
theme. We gamers don't care if the game is exclusive or not. We want to play
our kind of great games and have fun with them. For me, Shadow of War and the
four Batman Arkham games are five of my top ten favorite games. All five of
those games are not available on Switch. Now tell me this. What good is a
console to me that has great exclusives but not the games that I want to play?
Yet, the common theme is that Nintendo Switch has games and Xbox One doesn't.
You haters can enjoy this narrative all your life, but us gamers (real gamers)
just want to play games. Exclusive or not. 1st party, 3rd party, 5th party, or
100th party, we don't give a damn. We want to play great games. Xbox One has a
lot of great games.
Honestly, I think Xbox Game Studios don't mind if their games can be played on
different platforms. They proved that this past May when they released
Minecraft Dungeons on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and, wait for it,
PlayStation 4! So Xbox Game Studios, who published the game Minecraft Dungeons,
they want PlayStation 4 players and Nintendo Switch players to enjoy it. Would
PlayStation or Nintendo release a brand new game on Xbox One? Heck no.
According to Xbox, 'when everybody plays, we all win'. So when everybody plays
Minecraft Dungeons, we gamers are having fun. When everybody plays The Witcher
3, we gamers get to experience a great fantasy world with so much to do. When
everybody gets to play Red Dead Redemption 2, (sorry Nintendo fans, have to
wait a little) we get to experience one of the most interesting stories in the
world of video games. We gamers want to have fun. Xbox One delivers fun to me
and to all of its users. With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, there are so many great
and new games that can be played by Xbox and PC gamers. That's what I want
for myself and all for gamers across the world. We want access to as many games
as possible. Let's play, let's have fun, and sure, let's do trash talking.
However, we should stop making up lies that Xbox One doesn't have games. Oh,
you still think it's true that there are no games on Xbox One? Look at the
pictures below and use this link to
browse all the Xbox One games.
Now let me mention this one last time. This blog wasn't written to
offend PlayStation 4 gamers, Nintendo Switch gamers, or anyone in general. I
wrote this to address PlayStation fanboys and extreme Xbox haters. You don't
like Xbox One, that's fine. Just please stop it with the lies. I have all three
systems and I love all three of them. Xbox One is my favorite.
Enjoy your PlayStation 4, your Nintendo
Switch, your awesome gaming PC, and your Xbox One. Have fun gamers!
