My Predictions For Xbox Games Showcase 2023

It is very true that I'm disappointed with Redfall's launch and I won't be playing it until the 60 FPS patch is out for the game. However, I'm still excited for the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11th, 2023. Redfall had a lot of hype and it failed. Now time to get back up and look forward. The next few months for Xbox, starting from June 11th, are going to be very important for its future. They are going to be make-or-break months for a lot of gamers.

Are the next four to six months important for me as an Xbox Gamer? Well truth be told, I mostly play and enjoy multi-platform games. There are a few Xbox and PlayStation exclusives I adore and had a great time playing, but if you ask me about my top twenty games of all time, fifteen of those would be multi-platform games. I recently had an amazing time beating Resident Evil 4 Remake and currently enjoying Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. However, I would love to see great exclusives come to Xbox so the Xbox brand can flourish for as long as possible (hopefully forever). I don't want Xbox to disappear or turn into only a publisher like how Sega did back in the day.

So we all have high hopes for this upcoming Xbox showcase and we all want Xbox to knock it out of the park. We all probably have different and somewhat crazy predictions, so in this post, I'm just going to share some of mine. I hope you guys like what I have in my mind.

First and foremost, I wanna see gameplay for Avowed and Fable and then conclude those gameplay trailers with a release date for both. It has been almost three years now since we first saw those games. When those games were revealed during Xbox Games Showcases in 2020, most of us Xbox fans were jumping up and down. Xbox needs those Action-Adventure RPGs for their catalog since they are going to be different than all the shooting and racing games Xbox is mostly known for. I hope they both come out sometime next year and if they do come out next year, I will spend majority of my gaming on those games throughout the year.

Along with Avowed and Fable, Perfect Dark is my most anticipated game from Xbox Game Studios. Perfect Dark is being developed by a new studio, The Initiative. While the studio is new, all the developers who are working on this game are very well-known and very talented. My excitement for this game is somewhere up in the skies. Perfect Dark was also shown in the year 2020, but it was revealed during the Game Awards in December. The reveal trailer was amazing and I still get goosebumps every time I watch it. Like Avowed and Fable, I would like to see gameplay for Perfect Dark. If there is no concrete release date for this game, I'll be more than happy if they even give us a release window for it. Say something like coming Spring 2025 at the end of the gameplay presentation.

There are a couple of games for which Xbox needs to give some sort of an update. Everwild comes to mind first. The game was actually first seen in November 2019 and then again in 2021. It was sometime in 2022 when we get some bad news regarding the development as the team was struggling with the game and had to start their work from the beginning. Not hearing anything from the developer or Xbox for so long regarding Everwild is a bit scary. I hope it doesn't get canceled and I hope Xbox takes care of that fear by giving us a small update for the game during the showcase. The other few games that need some attention are State of Decay 3 and Contraband. The last we heard of the State of Decay 3 was in July 2020 during the Xbox Games Showcase and the last we heard of Contraband was in 2021 during Xbox E3 Presentation. At least we know what State of Decay 3 would look like since we have State of Decay 1 and 2. We have no idea what Contraband is going to look like as the reveal trailer didn't show much. So any update for those two games would be appreciated.

Okay, when in the world is Hellblade II going to come out. Hellblade II was the first Xbox Series X/S game to be revealed by Xbox in 2019 during the Game Awards and then we got a gameplay trailer for it during 2021's Game Awards. Now to be honest, I will play this game when it releases but I'm not that hyped for it as I am for Avowed, Perfect Dark, and Fable. However, it has been far too long now since this game was first revealed. Hellblade II should be coming out by next year, and I believe it is time for Xbox and Ninja Theory to show another trailer for this game and give us a release date.

Two cool third-party games are going to be a part of Xbox Game Pass day one, but we still don't have a release date for either. Those games are Replaced and Stalker 2. Both games were delayed due to the invasion by Russia in Ukraine. Hopefully, the developers are safe and healthy. If everything is in good shape and the working conditions are back to normal, I wouldn't mind seeing some more gameplay for both of those games with release dates at the end of their presentations. Stalker 2 looks scary and fun. Replaced looks very artistic. Can't wait to play them.

Xbox Game Pass is the centerpiece of the Xbox brand. It is not considered a great service just because of the first-party games being added day one, but also because of some massive multi-platform games added to its library day one or a few years after their release. Red Dead Redemption 2 was added to Game Pass eighteen months after its release. The addition of RDR2 was celebrated by the fans as more gamers like myself got to try it for the first time. It instantly became one of my favorite games of all time. So what massive multi-platform title to Game Pass could do the same trick as RDR2? The answer is Cyberpunk 2077. It is one of the most popular games of the last three years and it is tracking to release its DLC in the near future. What better way to get more people to buy your upcoming DLC than by bringing the game to the audience who haven't tried it yet? The announcement of Cyberpunk 2077 to Xbox Game Pass would be great.

Halo Infinite was the biggest addition to Xbox Game Pass in 2021. Some of us still play it for its campaign and multiplayer. Most Halo fans have been upset with the lack of content provided for the multiplayer. I'm here wondering when the DLC for the campaign will come out. I really enjoyed Master Chief's story in Infinite and I would like to continue his journey through the DLC. In fact, almost all of us Halo fans would love to continue the journey. It is about time for Xbox and 343 Industries to announce an expansion for Halo Infinite and give us a window for its release.

Now, let's move on to the other big Xbox franchise. It has been almost four years now since Gears 5 was released. In context, the gap between the launch of Gears 4 and Gears 5 was three years. Since Gears 5 release in 2019, we have gotten a DLC for it (Hivebusters) and a turn-based tactical game in Gears Tactics. I didn't get to play Gears Tactics since turn-based isn't my thing, but I did enjoy Hivebusters. They both were cool additions to the Gears franchise but we really want a mainline Gears game. We need Gears 6! A pleasant surprise from team Xbox would be to reveal Gears 6. No release date is necessary but to end the show with Gears 6 would be epic.

So as you can see from my somewhat unreal prediction for the Xbox Games Showcase, I have included just one new game to be revealed by Xbox. Well, that's because I included nine (yes nine) games that we know are coming to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass since the very first time Xbox Series X console was revealed in 2019. It is actually more than nine games that are coming to Xbox Series X/S consoles if you include Forza Motorsport, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Ereban: Shadow Legacy, Indiana Jones, and Starfield, but my point is that we don't really need new announcements. I believe we need those nine to fifteen games to start coming out on a consistent basis, or at least we should get release-date windows for most of them. Not saying to just release them right away, but provide us good updates for those games.

I hope you all like what I presented for the Xbox Games Showcase this year. Let's hope for the best and a great show. Avowed and Fable gameplay trailers along with their release dates would make this Xbox show a killer show for me.

Will Xbox Ever Beat PlayStation In Sales?

We all have our favorites. Favorite food, favorite city, favorite movie, favorite band, favorite game, and favorite console (of course there is more stuff but I was just giving you some examples). I love video games. To be more specific, I love pure action adult games with excellent looking graphics. I apologize to all those who love indie games and or games that look cartoonish, but that's just not my thing. To be honest, I don't understand how so many of twenty-plus-year-old play games like Cuphead, Zelda, Mario games, Untitled Goose, and more. Not saying they are bad games and don't have challenging missions, but the graphics of those games and how the characters appear and behave makes them look very kiddish. I bought myself 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' because I needed to know why this game is considered a masterpiece and one of the best games on Nintendo Switch. Not gonna lie, I was very excited as the game was loading and about to start. Th...

This Year's PlayStation Showcase Was Just Okay..

Yesterday's show wasn't that bad. If you care about games in general and not just about exclusives, then yesterday's PlayStation Showcase was really good. However, it doesn't matter what we care about. The purpose of the showcase was for PlayStation to show off the games their first-party studios were working on. That's what we saw in their last showcase in 2021, which was excellent. Since last week, when it was announced that PlayStation would be doing a showcase this week, our excitement went through the roof and we all started making predictions. Before I talk about all the games we were expecting to see last night, let's touch on some of the games and some extra stuff that we all got to see.      One game that caught the attention of many gamers was Phantom Blade Zero. Those who know me would tell you that I like nothing more than a third-person action-adventure game with sword combat. I buy such games instantly. What I saw from the gameplay reveal...

Xbox Game Pass Can Be Very Controversial On Twitter.

There are some things in this world that are hard to explain. These days people attempt to do weird and stupid things to catch attention. If you post something nice and educational on the internet, chances are you will get 10 to 40 likes if you have 1000 followers on Twitter or Instagram. If you post something controversial, you could get 10K likes and a whole lot of engagement in the comment section like no problem. In the gaming community, unless you are a popular streamer, when you post an excellent gameplay clip or anything positive related to gaming, you get a few cool gamers liking your post and maybe retweeting it. You might get a few bots on Twitter retweeting your post as well. If you post anything negative or anything to devalue one platform, your tweet will get retweeted by so many people with whom you never even interacted on the internet. Half of them will be applauding you and the other half will call you a clown. Either way, you get the attention. ...
